FaunOS linux
It comes the KDE desktop environment and a full complement of usefulapplications, including The Firefox Internet browser, OpenOffice.orgword processing suite, Audacity audio editor and recorder, and theGoogle Earth mapping tool. One feature that makes FaunOS stand out isits ability to save system changes at shutdown. Although you'll need tobe mindful that the drive to which you're saving has enough free spaceto accommodate the new or changed data, it's possible to resize thesystem partition using a good partition manager.
FaunOS is a portable (easy-to-carry), fully integrated Linux operatingsystem with over 600 preinstalled packages. It is specifically designed torun from a portable USB memory device (such as a USB flash drive). It can also be configured to boot from other media, such as DVD, and even theinternal hard drive, but we mainly focus on detachable media.
FaunOS doesn't read, change or install anything on the computer's internal harddrive - unless you specifically ask it to. This means it's safe to take yourUSB to a computer you don't own and boot from it. Whenyou finish, shutdown, and detach your USB key, there is no trace of any ofyour activity on that computer. So using FaunOS, you're protected frommalware, spyware, viruses and the like that may exist on the host machine'shard drive.
Since FaunOS is based on Arch Linux, any hardware listed in the ArchLinux Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) should also work on FaunOS.Some hardware may require additional setup as specified in the HCL:
